Need help with sound on PS3

I just bought a ps3  ^-^. The problem is I don't have a plasma tv. So I played the game on my LCD monitor to take advantage of the 1080p function. As a result, I don,t have any sound because PS3 use an optical cable that connect to an amp which is expensive  ::). Plus my LCD don't have any audio output on it.

So is there any usb stereo headphone that compatible with ps3 that i could use? I prefer stereo headphone because I want to blast out the volume without waking up my parents on 3am  :))

Hmmmm....it shuold....but id reccomend talking to the nerd in the shop first to make sure ;P

what monitor do u have?
once i connected an xbox360 on my monitor(Samsung SyncMaster T260) via HDMI. My monitor has sound output(digital and cinch) and I connected the monitor than with my speakers (Logitech G51) via aux input

xbox via HDMI -> monitor - monitor sound out -> speakers aux in

 n_n I use Viewsonic VX2233wm-3, there's a 3.5 jack at the back of the monitor but I think it's broken. Plus the monitor came with no driver for sound at all and no slot for HDMI.

I can even use my woofer now to boost the sound  ;)
